The Museum dedicated itself to providing an environment of tranquil beauty for its special events. There is a limit of one event per weekend to ensure that our grounds and buildings will be seen by your guests in relaxed privacy.

CONTRACTS

All events require a signed contract with a non-refundable deposit of one half the event cost estimate at the time of reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to the event along with a refundable $250 damage deposit. If the event is reserved less than 60 days in advance, the full balance and damage deposit must be paid at the time of the reservation.

PARKING

A combination of paved and grass field parking is available for up to 300 cars. For parties over 300 guests, the museum will provide staff to direct parking traffic for an additional fee depending on the number of attendants needed. Valet parking is not provided and must be contracted separately with an approved vendor.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Guests are required to use one of the museum's preferred caterers. The service of alcoholic beverages is allowed on site. The service must be provided by the staff of one of our preferred caterers.

MUSIC

Musicians, bands, and DJs are allowed as long as the volume remains moderate and does not disturb any of the museum's neighbors. The museum must approve musicians selected in advance, and a representative must meet with the Event Director in advance of the event to ensure proper setup.

RENTALS

Guests are required to use one of the museum's preferred rental companies. A complete description of the event including tent location, tent layout, and the use of additional spaces for the other activities must be submitted in advance for approval.

DECORATIONS

Nothing may be attached to the buildings or walls. Confetti, glitter and rice are prohibited. Candles may be used with advanced approval in specified areas only. Fireworks are prohibited but sparklers may be used with advance approval.

TRANSPORTAION

The museum encourages the use of taxis, vans and other designated forms of transportation for guests leaving the facility if alcoholic beverages have been served. Guests may leave vehicles parked overnight in order to make use of such arrangements. Cars must be picked up between 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. the following day. Horse and carriages are permitted on the grounds of the museum with advanced approval. The museum is 15 minutes from the Bluegrass Airport, several interstates and is within 10 minutes of downtown Lexington and several major hotel areas.
