Gemstones & Design Series
Each of the exhibiting designers will speak about their distinctive work and experience in the design field. In complement to his presentation, Mr. Mobell will also lead a gallery tour. On March 29, Ms. Sherris Cottier Shank will share her experiences from mining a gem, to carving the gem, to the final product - a ring for the gem that will eventually be displayed in the Headley-Whitney Museum.
Local Silversmith Mr. Allen Jewell will speak on April 19 about his work; furthermore, he will demonstrate some of the tools and techniques he utilizes. The “Search for Passion” presentation by Laurie and Simon Watt of EAT Gallery is a photographic show of a buying trip to the mines and cutting factories in Sri Lanka, as well as an inside look at the gem retail business.

LEXINGTON, KY – The Headley-Whitney Museum announces a unique opportunity to meet the artist behind the fabulous works of the upcoming exhibition Bewildering, Bejeweled, Bodacious Eggs. Be the first to preview the exhibit - even before opening night! Attend this afternoon luncheon Friday, April 4, 2008 from Noon to 1:30pm to hear the artist discuss her works and answer your questions, also enjoy this opportunity to network with other local artists.
Lunch will begin at Noon with the artist’s discussion beginning at 12:45. Guests are invited to attend lunch, the artist’s discussion, or both. Space is limited and reservations are required.
