Sweet Talk

Rodney Hatfield

Oil on panel

16 x 20 framed

The name “Sweet Talk” came from an actual feral cat that roamed the streets of Lexington and fathered a number of offspring in the 80’s. In juxtaposition to the cat’s harsh snarl, Rodney lovingly gave him the name Sweet Talk.

Coming from the lineage of the Hatfields and McCoys, Rodney Hatfield, a.k.a  ArtSnake, grew up in Kentucky in a working class family, rich with the diversity of lifestyles and characters that deeply influenced his legendary music and visual art careers. A lover of animals in general, dogs and cats have always been in his life and often find their way onto his canvas. Hatfield’s work has been represented by New Editions Gallery for many years and is in many collections including actors Gene Hackmanj and Liam Niesen.
