Thank you for your interest in visiting the Headley-Whitney Museum. Self-guided tours of current and permanent exhibitions are available.
For your safety the museum will be observing health and safety regulations including mandatory face coverings, social distancing, and sanitizing for staff and all visitors.
The Museum is currently CLOSED. We will open September 10, 2021 with an exhibition featuring Helene Steene and Alex K. Mason. Please check back for hours of operation in September.
Group tours of the Shell Grotto & Library, as well as event rentals, are available by appointment only.
Parking is FREE, and is located in the lot through the main entrance and to the left.
The Headley-Whitney Museum of Art is located on Old Frankfort Pike in between Lexington & Midway, located right in the middle of beautiful horse country.
From Kentucky Route 4 (New Circle Road), take exit 6 onto KY 1681 (Old Frankfort Pike) toward Frankfort. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit to continue onto Old Frankfort Pike. The museum is located about 3.5 miles down the road on the right.
From Midway, the museum is located approximately 5.5 miles down KY 1681 toward Lexington. The destination will be on your left.
